The village of Tanca Manna forms part of one of the most charming towns of the Costa Smeralda: Cannigione.
Once a fishing village, today Cannigione is a well-known tourist destination in the municipality of Arzachena. Its broad sandy shore is close to the large, modern tourist port; it is surrounded by the green of the vegetation and the infinite shades of blue of the crystal-clear sea.
The town is also close to many other beaches, which stretch along the Gulf of Arzachena to the salt flats of Palau: La Conca, Tanca Manna, Mannena, Barca Bruciata and Isuledda. The coast is an ideal holiday location for families and young persons, as it offers the chance to visit a different locality every day, each of which is close by and exclusive: Porto Cervo, Baia Sardinia, Porto Rotondo and Poltu Quatu. The 55-km coastline of the Gulf of Arzachena boasts several must-see attractions: the coves of Lu Multiccioni and Li Capanni, the long beach of Tanca Manna, and the Caribbean atmosphere of the Bay of Capriccioli.
Greenery, restaurants, cafés and boutiques wherever you look! Traditional hand-crafted products and Sardinian delicacies blend together with luxury shopping. Boat trips leave Cannigione for the Maddalena Archipelago National Park, while to the south guests can visit the Padula Saloni pond: here among reeds, canes and tamarisks can be seen species that only live in island lagoons, such as the greater flamingo. In summer, the shrubs of the pond take on a reddish colour, creating extraordinary scenic effects at sunrise and sunset. Heading north from the town, visitors can reach Punta Occhione, with its expanse of Mediterranean scrub; the hilltop gives you a delightful panorama of the entire gulf, as far as ‘Bear Rock’.
